Meet: June

June is a member of The Makers Hub in Compton, and for her, the Hub is a place of calm, focus, and possibility.

She comes to work in the studio, paying a simple studio fee that gives her the freedom to use the space and tools she needs. What she finds there is something she does not always get at home. A peaceful environment that supports creativity and progress.

June describes The Makers Hub as a hidden gem. A place where access and atmosphere come together. She values the staff for being friendly, helpful, and deeply knowledgeable, and she feels excited about what the space can continue to offer the community.

Right now, she is working on a cabinet project. The flexibility of the Hub allows her to bring the piece back and forth as she works through each stage. The cabinet is painted inside and out, and the next step is stenciling a design onto the surface.

“I love the staff here, they’re friendly, they’re helpful, they’re knowledgeable. I’m excited about what The Makers Hub can do for the community.”

She is at the point where all the individual efforts are coming together, and that is what excites her most. Seeing the full vision take shape.

For June, The Makers Hub is more than a workspace. It is a place where creativity feels supported, progress feels possible, and making feels joyful.
