Compton’s 1st comprehensive Tool Lending Library is an innovative initiative dedicated to providing residents of the Greater Compton Area with access to a wide range of tools and equipment.

Our focus is on empowering the community by offering resources that enable home improvement, repairs, and creative projects without the financial burden of purchasing new tools.

By facilitating access to these essential tools, we aim to foster a culture of self-reliance, skill development, and community collaboration, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for everyone in our area.

What Type of Maker Are You?

Pay Per Tool

For the maker who rarely does projects – borrow a tool and return the same day. 

  • Borrow up to 5 tools at a time (3 power tools) with same-day returns;
  • Borrow up to 10 tools per month.

$20 Per Month

For the weekend project makers. Reserve tools up to a week in advance.

  • Borrow up to 10 tools at a time (3 power tools) for up to one week;
  • Borrow up to 20 tools per month;
  • Eligible to borrow specialty tools for an additional fee.

$70 Annually

For the regular project maker. Reserve tools up to a week in advance.

  • Borrow up to 10 tools at time (5 power tools) for up to one week;
  • Borrow up to 20 tools per month;
  • Eligible to borrow specialty tools for an additional fee;
  • Good for 2 household members (same address). Additional household members can be added for $10.

Read our Maker’s Pledge to understand the terms and conditions of being a member;

Step 2:
Select the Membership type that is best suited for your needs;

Step 3:
Register your account with MyTurn.

Step 4:
Sign the Membership Agreement and Liability Waiver as part of your registration process online.

Did you know that our local Compton Public Library also has a variety of items available for you to borrow for free?  You can borrow things like:

We’re not here to compete, but to complement each other’s offerings to the communities we serve. If you can borrow an item for free at the library, we’ll refer you there. If they don’t have what you need, we’ll help you find it.
