Participants will learn several common uses and applications of a Cricut machine. Bring your own Cricut to this comprehensive workshop and learn how to increase use and troubleshoot to upgrade your home crafts to the next level! (If you’d still like to learn, but don’t have a Cricut use ours.)

Upcoming Events in April 2025:

Participants will learn the essentials of how to machine sew. You will learn terminology, types of Seams, thread tension, stitch size, and types, how to thread a machine and bobbin, how to wind a bobbin, and some basic troubleshooting. They will practice sewing and controlling the pressure foot. They will also practice sewing some basic seams.

Participants must be able to understand basic sewing and fabric terms and the items taught in Intro to Sewing. (Intro to sewing is not a requirement if you already know the info taught).

 

After learning basic sewing principles and techniques, participants will introduced to notions: small objects and accessories that are applied to the finished article. Students of this workshop will learn how to sew zippers, buttons, button holes, hook and eye closures, snaps, etc, as well as the various types and applications, along with how to choose the correct notions for a project.

Participants will learn terminology, types of tools, substrates, grouts, and tiles. They will also learn how to use manual and power tile saws. They will learn how to prepare surfaces for tiling, tile a flat floor (cut tile for inside and outside corners and plumb the first line of tile against a wall.), and a flat wall against a floor or counter. They will learn how to measure and maintain the project level. They will learn how to apply substrate (hardiboard), thin-set, apply tile and spacers, and how to grout and finish.
The class will not teach how to demo existing flooring or surfaces.

Hop down to the Makers Hub and design an Easter basket! Come celebrate the season and create your very own paper basket. Decorate it any way you like and fill it up with treats, fun for the whole family! For parents with their children 5 & up

Participants will learn how to use various woodshop equipment safely, the required PPE, and how to measure and set up the machines. They will create a simple cutting or charcuterie board to take home.

Participants will learn plumbing dos & don’ts, how to hire a plumber (questions to ask and red flags), how to avoid plumbing problems, and how to do some easy repairs: unclogging a sink and toilet, fixing the sink plug, replacing a toilet, changing the toilet flush valve, changing a facet, garbage disposal maintenance, and jams, installing a sink soap dispenser and how to use an electric snake safely.
