Tiling Basics

In this introductory workshop, you will learn how to use manual and power tools to tile a floor. You will learn how to prepare surfaces for tiling (no demolition). Then, complete steps to tile a floor  – cut tile with manual and power tile saws for inside and outside corners, plumb the first line of tile against a wall, and a flat wall against a floor or counter. You will also learn how to measure and maintain the project level and apply substrate (hardiboard), thin-set, tile and spacers, and grout and finish. This class does NOT teach how to demo existing flooring or surfaces. This workshop is now available to participants ages 16 and up! Participants ages 16-17 years old must be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian and require a signed Parent Liability form. All participants must wear closed-toe shoes, hair tied up, no loose jewelry. Reserve your spot now! All workshops now require a minimum of 50% available tickets to be sold or the workshop may be cancelled 24 hours in advance of its scheduled date/time.
