Meet Shaunna
Hey, Maker!
My name is Shaunna and I am the Managing Director at The Makers Hub.
Professionally, I spent 12 years in the private sector as an operations director, where my role was to strategize the best way for small businesses/start-up ventures to grow. From risk assessment to budget development, there was a lot to do in that role.
One of my favorite parts of that role was the development of my team and company culture and it is something I look forward to doing here at TMH. It was way more fast-paced, higher stakes, and challenging but it was not as fulfilling as working in the nonprofit sector.
I’m super excited to be working with The Makers Hub!
I am a maker at heart – I love creating and I think that should be fostered in all people. I believe that the types of resources that TMH wants to provide to the community should be accessible to all and that is where I find my true alignment with the mission. I think TMH is all about creating opportunity for others and it is truly amazing what people can accomplish if only given that opportunity.
What I Do at The Makers Hub
Day to Day Operations
I am responsible for the day-to-day operations within the organization as well as financial/asset management.
Managing Staff
I manage a team of two, ensure that programs are developed with specific objectives/goals, and work with my team to develop strategies for growth and success.
Prepare for Obstacles
Basically, it is my job to make sure to keep things running smoothly and be prepared for any bumps in the road.
Fun Fact: I love playing video games with my family, that is actually how I met my partner. On top of that, Get Set Go wrote a song about it called "Stormwind". Go show Mike some love and listen to it - because it is my love story with my partner.

Spending time with Family
I am an introvert that enjoys video games, animals, and hanging with my family. When we take vacations, it is almost always somewhere where we can enjoy the outdoors.
I love trout fishing, hiking in the high sierra, and working with my animals in my spare time. I train wild mustangs as a hobby and work professionally with captive-bred wolves.
All things DIY, art & music!
I also really love home renovation projects, art, and music. I always have a home renovation project going, love to paint with watercolors in my spare time, and go to concerts at least once every couple of months. I have also recently gotten my new garden established and have been enjoying the literal fruits of that labor and cooking with my home-grown goodies.
Wrangling wolves!
Wolves! I have an organization dedicated to the conservation of grey wolves and highlighting the importance of biodiversity. I have two ambassador animals now that take up the majority of my time outside of work. You can see more about them at www.thebigbadproject.org.
