Meet the Hub Heroes: Lucille "Lulu" Wright

Lulu Wright volunteering

Meet Lulu. Lulu Wright is an aspiring entrepreneur who enjoys various activities such as reading, hiking, dancing, singing, and spending time with family and God. Her passion lies in making her community a better place, inspired by her childhood memories of living in a beautiful and safe Compton. She aims to recreate that experience for her grandchildren and other members of the community.

Lulu is making a difference in the Greater Compton Area through volunteering with local nonprofit organizations such as The Makers Hub. She was inspired to get involved after receiving an email from Sheriff Harkness, which prompted her to reach out to Adrianne, the founder of The Makers Hub and a fellow community member. Together, they discussed their shared desire to improve Compton and how they could work together to achieve this goal.

Volunteers are essential to the success of The Makers Hub, providing their time, dedication and effort to help us meet their objectives and better serve the Greater Compton Area. Without them, we would not be where we are today. From fundraising and advocacy to hands-on work in the field, our volunteers are helping us every step of the way. With their diverse skills and perspectives, TMH volunteers help us operate more efficiently and respond better to the needs of the community we serve.

For Lulu, volunteering has been a way to connect with like-minded individuals who share her values and desire to serve others. She sees this as an opportunity to not only contribute to her community, but also to grow as a person and develop new skills.

In addition to volunteering, Lulu is also pursuing her entrepreneurial dreams by opening a family home child daycare. She sees this as another way to make a positive impact on her community by providing a safe and nurturing environment for children. With help from The Makers Hub, she was able to finish the painting and landscaping needed to open the doors to her daycare to the community.

By volunteering her time and skills, she is helping to create a better future for herself, her grandchildren and the Compton community.

I was drawn to The Makers Hub because of the opportunities to build relationships, make a difference, and serve my community.

We are extremely grateful for the selfless dedication and invaluable contributions she has made to The Makers Hub through her volunteering. Volunteers like Lulu help us continue our work in the Greater Compton Area and truly make a difference!

You can join us in making a difference by volunteering too! As a volunteer, you’ll be able to help us create a positive impact in the community.
